However, this might actually be something of a hindrance for the band members, since they seem to imbue their music with revolutionary, anti-system undertones… something difficult to achieve when you’ve become an integral part of amplified music. Shinedown has sold almost ten million records throughout their twenty-year career-more than enough to establish them as true heavyweights in the genre, particularly in the US. Shinedown are the epitome of the “alternative metal” wave that gained traction after grunge and neo metal bands like Nickelback, Chevelle and Staind stormed the early 21st century.
